Calgary based artist Gurjit Mann Toor captures the transformative power of the majestic Alberta landscape. She paints her fascination with Alberta's rugged beauty, serene horizons, vast skies and tranquil spirit. Her endless backcountry adventures, from hiking and camping to mountain biking and skiing, have continuously fueled the creativity that makes up the soul of her work.
Gurjit’s process is a sophisticated balance of logic and intuition, drawn from her professional STEM background, balanced by her passion for creation. Painting became her meditative practice. She debuted with her first solo retrospective exhibition in 2023, after over two decades of painting.
Her signature style is characterized by bold and vibrant interpretations of the natural world. Through expressive palette knife and brush work, she invites viewers to step in and feel the boundlessness of each piece.
